The white thing in my chicken tenders?

When you buy the chicken tenders in a package in the store are you supposed to remove the white thing in the middle (which I am assuming is a tenden) or do you keep it in?

  1. It's probably just connective tissue or a tendon, and yeah, you'd probably want to remove it - they don't taste very good.
  2. nothing wrong with eating them, but they shouldn't be there... pick another brand. that's gross
  3. It really doesn't matter. It's up to you.
  4. It could be anything. Chicken tenders are filled with many different parts of the chicken. They're like hot dogs, there are many different parts of the animal which can be used by law. Breast "White" meat is expensive, which is why chicken tenders contain dark meat.
  5. The white thing in the chicken tenders is a tendon. It is best if you remove it, but really won't hurt anything. Personally, I can hardly stand it if I don't get them out, but sometimes they are really hard to get out without messing up the piece of meat. I usually at least cut off the part that is sticking out from the end of the tender, but sometimes leave the rest in, because like I said, getting it out often messes up the whole thing, leaving me with lots of tiny pieces and a mangled up big piece. Better to just put whatever you are going to put on it and then cook it. They won't hurt anything...really.
